Copenhagen is tentatively planning to utilize our remaining snow day givebacks to create two extended holiday weekends:
-Friday, May 22 - in observance of Memorial Day weekend
-Monday, June 22 - in observance of the Juneteenth holiday
Please note that these dates remain tentative and are dependent upon no additional emergency closings.
Additional information regarding end-of-year dates and related planning will be shared in the near future.
As Winter ends and Spring begins, there has been an increase in pedestrian traffic before and after school. With more students walking and crossing Mechanic Street, Loud Street, and the parking lots of school, we want to take a moment to remind everyone of the importance of traffic safety in our school zone.
Please be mindful of the following:
-SLOW DOWN when entering the school zone. The speed limit is 20 MPH.
-YIELD TO PEDESTRIANS. Students may not always look both ways.
-AVOID DISTRACTIONS such as cell phones while driving through school areas.
-DO NOT PASS STOPPED BUSES with flashing red lights—it is both dangerous and illegal.
-DO NOT PASS VEHICLES ON THE RIGHT OR LEFT. That vehicle may be allowing a pedestrian to cross.
Our goal is to ensure every student arrives at and leaves school safely each day. Your cooperation and attention to these safety practices make a significant difference.
Thank you for helping keep our school community safe.

CCS would like to inform the community that there will be a large presence of emergency vehicles and law enforcement on campus tomorrow morning, Thursday, February 26, 2026. At 10:40 a.m., students and staff will be lining the halls to recognize and celebrate Zakkary LaRue as he departs for Albany to compete in the 2026 State Wrestling Championship Tournament. Emergency vehicles and law enforcement will escort Zakk from the back parking lot onto Maple Avenue, and then along Route 12 toward Lowville. Community members are encouraged to line the streets along the route to show their support and wish Zakk the best of luck as he represents Copenhagen at the STATE level. We appreciate the continued support and thank our local emergency responders for helping us celebrate this special achievement.
