Knight’s Cafe – Food Services

Mission Statement

The mission of Knight’s Cafe is to provide healthy, district-wide meal options through our cafeteria program while helping students connect with where food comes from and learn the importance of nutritious eating as part of a healthy lifestyle.


Program Goals

  • Provide nutrition education for every student
  • Serve better tasting and healthier food options
  • Incorporate local food whenever possible
  • Include fresh fruits and vegetables in daily menu offerings
  • Offer a variety of healthy choices to help broaden student palettes
  • Promote the Knight’s Cafe brand to encourage increased participation

À La Carte Items & Snacks

PK–5 Students

Parents/guardians must provide a written or verbal note authorizing snack purchases from their child’s account. A note will be added to the student’s lunch account. Without authorization, students will not be permitted to purchase snacks.

Grades 6–12

Students in grades 6–12 may purchase snacks if funds are available on their account unless parents/guardians request otherwise.


Pricing

  • Milk — $0.75
  • Extra Main Dish — $2.00
  • Snacks — $0.75–$2.00
  • Ice Cream — $1.00

We accept:

  • Cash
  • Online payments
  • Checks payable to Copenhagen Central School

Did You Know?

Knight’s Cafe proudly participates in the Farm-to-School Program, helping connect our students with fresh, locally sourced food from area farms and businesses.

We are currently partnering with local farmers and producers to bring quality local ingredients into our cafeterias, and we look forward to expanding these partnerships even more in the future.

MOVING?

Please contact the Food Service Office for a refund. Refunds are not automatically done by the school. You have 12 months from the date of withdrawal to request a refund. 

 

GRADUATING SENIORS?

If the graduating senior has a sibling in the district, we automatically transfer the balance over to the sibling with the least amount of funds. If they DO NOT have a sibling any balance above $5.00 will be refunded to the home address. 

All refunds are issued by check. No cash will be given from the cashier.

Snyder’s Sugar Shack is a family-owned business operated by Lewis County natives Mike and Mara Snyder, along with their children Chase and Carly.

The Snyder family are proud Copenhagen alumni and longtime supporters of our local community.


Red Barn Meats

Red Barn Meats is a family-owned business established in 2013. As the business grew, they expanded into USDA-inspected products and services and have continued to grow ever since.

Today, Red Barn Meats employs 28 individuals and proudly provides quality meats at reasonable prices.

Their beef, pork, lamb, and chicken products are sourced from local farmers whenever possible.

  • Provide fresher ingredients for students
