Notice is hereby given that the Board of Education of the Copenhagen Central School District will hold a public hearing during the regularly scheduled Board meeting on Monday, October 20, 2025, in the Guidance Office, beginning at 6:00 p.m.
The hearing will be held regarding the proposed revisions to the District-Wide Safety Plan for the 2025–2026 school year. In accordance with New York State Education Law § 2801-a, the plan has been revised to include a Cardiac Emergency Response Plan as required by recent legislative updates (Desha’s Law), ensuring compliance with state mandates taking effect in January 2026.
The revised District-Wide Safety Plan will be available for public inspection beginning October 7, 2025, on the District website and at the District Office. The plan will be open for public comment for at least 30 days following its posting. The public hearing on October 20, 2025, will provide an opportunity for all interested parties to provide comment. Following the completion of the 30-day public comment period, the Board of Education anticipates adopting the revised District-Wide Safety Plan at its November 17, 2025 meeting.
