Welcome to the Counseling Center!

{Mrs. Brigitte M. Gillette}

Welcome!  As the school counselor for all students in grades 6-12, Mrs. Gillette works with both students and parents in academic and career planning.  This includes high school graduation requirements, types of diplomas, scheduling courses, communication between teachers and families, career awareness, and post-secondary planning.

In addition, she enjoys assisting students with managing social/emotional issues they face as teens.  This counseling may occur individually or in small groups to include social skills, coping skills development, and peer mediation.  At Copenhagen Central, a student assistant counselor is also available. She meets with students regarding substance use and abuse prevention and other mental health issues.  Sometimes, we may refer students and families to therapists outside of the school system if more in depth or longer term therapy is needed.
